Officials Say Three Hospitalized in Route 543 Crash

One was taken by medevac to a regional trauma center, Harford County emergency officials said.

Three people were hospitalized Thursday following a midday crash on MD Route 543 near MD Route 22, according to Harford County first responders.

At approximately 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, two vehicles collided near the intersection, according to Rich Gardiner, spokesman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association.

It took approximately 10 minutes for first responders to get the trapped individuals from the vehicles, according to the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company.

One person was taken to a regional trauma center by helicopter, according to Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association. That person had serious injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, Gardiner said.

Two other individuals were taken via ambulance to a regional trauma center, the association reported.
