More Than 15K Without Power in Harford County

'Please don't travel.' —Harford County Volunteer Fire & EMS

Approximately 12,677 customers in Harford County were without power, BGE reported at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, and emergency officials said that travel was treacherous.

In addition, Delmarva Power said 3,021 Harford County customers were experiencing outages.

Between 3 and 9:30 a.m., fire companies from those jurisdictions responded to 70 calls, officials reported.

"Trees and power lines continue to drop in the northern sections of the county," Harford County Fire & EMS said just before 8 a.m, noting  Jarrettsville, Bel Air, Fallston and Norrisville as problem areas. 

The following roads were closed, according to the Coordinated Highways Action Response Team:

  • Route 165 south of Rocks Road; debris in road reported at 8:52 a.m.
  • Norrisville Road; debris in roadway reported at 8:25 a.m.
  • Route 165 at Wheeler School Road; debris in roadway reported at 8:22 a.m.
"Please don't travel and stay home off the roads. It is treacherous," Harford County Fire & EMS stated.
