PLEASE, NOT SAYING IT IS NOT THE MOTORCYCLIST'S FAULT BUT REMEMBER THIS..... WHEN YOU RIDE CLOSE TO A MOTORCYCLE REMEMBER A FEW THINGS.... OUR STOPPING DISTANCE IS NOT AS EASY AS A CAR, AND YOU WILL RUN US OVER. DO NOT PULL OUT IN FRONT OF A MOTORCYCLE LIKE YOU DO A CAR, AGAIN THE STOPPING SUDDENLY OF A MOTORCYCLE RESULTS IN ACCIDENTS. A CAR NOT NECESSARILY. THANK YOU FOR TAKING A SECOND TO READ MY RANT. Everyone stay safe!!!

Agreed. Especially in the summer months when there are more bikes on the road. I pray that this person is ok. God forbid, let's not start the rant about bikes again on here, there is enough of that on the other article. Share the road, be aware of motorcycles and their limitations for stopping, turning, and avoiding collisions, and give them a safe distance.

The writer was wrong....it was a little scooter not a motorcycle. Myself and husband witnessed the accident. The driver tried to stop at the last minute for a red light and lost control. I do agree with your post my husband is a rider and sometimes people don't look out for motorcycles.

Personally I have a bigger rant...why do large SUV's and mini vans always pull up on bikes knowing we can't see over your hoods to see what is coming. Twice yesterday while sitting at intersections waiting our turn to make a right hand turn. Soccer Moms in gas guzzling SUV's pull up as close as they can next to us. How can pull out if I can't see what is coming? Then you get pissed when we just sit there.

We all have a right to drive what we want. Don't blame minivans and SUV's unless you throw trucks in the mix too. Oh, right. Sorry. I forgot that many motorcyclists drive gad guzzling trucks. So I suppose we have to ignore them and just blame the other large vehicles? What's really your point, Deb? I guess until they make special lanes for everyone we're all just going to have days where other drivers will annoy the crap out of us. By the way, I'd like to rant also and ask all drivers to look up the meaning of "yield". Apparently they don't teach that in Driving School.
