Woman Struck by Car in Churchville

A Wednesday evening accident in the Churchville area sent one woman to Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

 

One woman was in stable condition Thursday at Maryland Shock Trauma Center after she was hit by a car in the Churchville area on Wednesday, according to state police.

Shortly before 5:51 p.m. Wednesday, a 67-year-old woman stopped her car near the 1700 block of Churchville Road, Route 22, in the area of St. Mary Magdalen Mission, between Bel Air and Churchville, according to Cpl. Justin Gross with Maryland State Police Bel Air Barrack.

The woman got out of her car to look for something and was in the roadway when a 27-year-old man, who was driving a Mazda RX-8, hit her, according to Cpl. Gross.

The woman was flown to Shock Trauma in Baltimore where she was listed in stable condition Thursday, Gross said.

No charges had been filed Thursday, according to state police.
