Pedestrian in Critical Condition after Linwood Crash: Bel Air Police

The man who was hit was walking his dog, police said.

A 69-year-old Bel Air man was in critical condition Wednesday evening after being hit by a car while walking his dog on Linwood Avenue, Bel Air police said.

At 5:20 p.m. Wednesday, police and Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company paramedics were dispatched for a report of a pedestrian struck, according to the statement from police.

The man had been walking his dog on Linwood Avenue at Giles Street when a 46-year-old Bel Air woman hit him with her 1998 Chevrolet, police said.

The man was taken by helicopter to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he remained in critical condition as of 8:20 p.m. Wednesday, according to police.

There were no sidewalks in the area, according to the report from police.
