Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Edgewood, Fire Company Reports

The Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company responded to the crash on Route 40.

A pedestrian was seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle in Edgewood Friday night, according to Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company.

The crash on US Route 40/Pulaski Highway was reported just after 8:30 p.m.

The pedestrian was "seriously injured" after being hit by a vehicle on Pulaski Highway at Sand Pebble Drive and was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, according to Joppa-Magnolia.

This was the second incident Friday night that Joppa-Magnolia responded to which required transport to shock trauma.

A Maryland State Police helicopter took a man to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center after a fall, Joppa-Magnolia reported at 6:18 p.m. Friday.

The helicopter picked the patient up at the main Joppa-Magnolia station, according to the report.
