Police: Forest Hill Man Shoots at Wife, Then Shoots Himself

The Harford County Sheriff's Office said a 28-year-old man is in stable condition after shooting himself in the face amid a domestic dispute.

A Forest Hill man is in stable condition at Maryland Shock Trauma after he shot at his wife, and then shot himself in the face Monday night, police told Patch.

The 28-year-old man, who is not being identified, got into a verbal argument with his 35-year-old wife around 8 p.m. Monday in the unit block of East Jarrettsville Road in Forest Hill, according to Harford County Sheriff's Office spokesman Eddie Hopkins.

Hopkins said the fight became physical, with the man shoving his wife to prevent her from leaving the home. The man shot a rifle at his wife, missing her, before turning the gun and shooting himself in the face, Hopkins said.

Hopkins said the woman—who also isn't being identified by officials at this time—then grabbed the gun and ran outside, where she yelled for neighbors to call for help. The husband stumbled outside, where he collapsed, Hopkins said.

Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company treated the man at the scene before he was flown to shock trauma. The woman suffered minor injuries, but declined medical care, Hopkins said.

Hopkins said charges are pending in the matter.
