Police Find Missing Bel Air High Student

A student took the bus to school, but did not arrive in class.

 

UPDATE (2:18 p.m.)—Police were called to Wednesday morning after a student who rode the bus that morning did not arrive in class.

The school system immediately notified the parents and called to aid in a search, according to Teri Kranefeld, manager of communication with the school system.

The student was ultimately found at a nearby Bel Air business, Kranefeld said.

She explained the situation was isolated and "not a danger to anyone else."

"It was a special needs student and when he left the bus he went to the doctor’s office instead of to school," Bel Air Police Chief told Patch on Wednesday. "It was more a lack of communication than really a danger or urge to run away."

Matrangola said as police started a full-scale search, the student was found.
