Police Search Street Area For Missing Person

An extensive search began Sunday afternoon for someone who was believed to be suicidal.

Shortly before 12:30 p.m., police flooded the area between Maryland Route 136 and Arena Road in Street in search of a person running from the area and suspected of being suicidal.

Police received a call for a suicidal subject who tried to kill himself or herself in an "unconventional way," according to a state police dispatcher.

When Harford County sheriff's deputies arrived at the at the scene, the person ran into the woods, according to state police. No weapon was involved, police said.

State police joined deputies in the search with a bloodhound unit and helicopter.
