Lawyers Allege Other Teens Involved In Death Of Bel Air Man

Robert Richardson III, age 17, of Bel Air is charged with first- and second-degree murder in connection with the January 2012 shooting death of his father.

Two other young people may have been involved in January 2012 shooting death of a Bel Air man, lawyers told a Harford County judge Friday.

Laywers defending Robert C. Richardson III told Harford County Circuit Court Judge Stephen Waldron they have evidence two other juveniles were involved in the shooting death of Richardson III's father, The Baltimore Sun reports.

Richardson III, now 17, is charged with first- and second-degree murder and use of a firearm in a felony or violent crime in connection with his father's death. The teen allegedly admitted to shooting and killing his father then dumping the body in Aberdeen, a police spokesperson said at the time of his arrest.

The two other juveniles Richardson III's lawyers mentioned are currently listed as witnesses for the state, but the defense attorneys say they beileve the young people should be either co-defendants on Richardson's murder charges or charged with being accessories after the fact, The Baltimore Sun story goes on to say.

A criminal motions hearing in the case is slated to take place at 10 a.m. April 19 in circuit court, online court records show.
