Road Closed, Power Out in Churchville after Crash

The crash was reported on MD Route 136 near Route 22 Tuesday morning.

A morning rush hour crash snarled traffic and knocked out power in Churchville.

All lanes of MD Route 136 were closed between Churchville Road and Graftons Lane as of 10:45 a.m., according to the Maryland Department of Transportation, which reported the roadway was shut down at 9:17 a.m. due to a collision.

Drivers reported long delays near Routes 136 and 22 in Churchville around 9:30 a.m.

BGE crews were in the area with approximately 130 customers reporting power outages as of 10:45 a.m. The utility company posted on its outage map that the cause was likely related to a vehicle collision.

According to The Aegis, more than 700 outages were reported near the crash site at 9:50 a.m. Tuesday.

This is the second large outage affecting Harford County residents in the past week.

Over the weekend, equipment damage resulted in nearly 3,000 outages in Bel Air.
