Route 543 Opens After Wires Down

The crash was reported after 5:30 p.m., officials said.

All lanes of MD Route 543 were shut down after 5:30 p.m. Monday due to a crash, according to a report from the Coordinated Highways Action Response Team. The road reportedly reopened before 8:30 p.m.

At 5:36 p.m. there was a single-vehicle collision on Route 543 that resulted in the road's closure between MD Route 7 and MD Route 136, according to the report.

Verizon and BGE responded to the scene, Sgt. Comer of Maryland State Police told Patch. According to Comer, a truck took down low-hanging wires. He said there were no injuries as a result of the incident.
