Street Building Burned Intentionally, Fire Officials Say

The fire burned a building on Mill Green Road in Street.

 

A building in Street was burned to the ground Monday, and investigators said they believe the blaze was set intentionally.

Around 9:17 a.m., Darlington Volunteer Fire Company was called to the 3500 block of Mill Green Road in response to a fire, according to a release from the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office.

When firefighters arrived, the 20-foot by 16-foot building had already collapsed, according to , spokesman for .

The fire caused about $1,000 damage to the building and $100 damage to what was inside, according to the release.

According to the news release from the fire marshal's office, someone intentionally set fire to the inside of the building.
