Street Man Dies in Weekend Accident

A 21-year-old Street resident died Saturday after a head-on collision in Churchville.

A 21-year-old Street man died Saturday after a pickup truck crashed head-on into his car on Route 22 in Churchville, police said. 

Joshua John Hanna, 21, of Street, was flown by medevac helicopter to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore where he was pronounced dead by medical personnel, according to a Maryland State Police press release.

The driver of a Dodge pickup truck, 26-year-old Jordan Craig Stewart of Churchville, was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Hanna was driving a 2008 Hyundai Elantra eastbound just before 4 p.m., when the 1994 Dodge Ram pickup crossed the center line in the 3100 block of Route 22 and hit the his car head-on, according to police.

The cause of the accident remained under investigation Monday, Maryland State Police Lt. Charles Moore said.

The road was closed about four hours for investigation.
