Suspicious Fallston Incident Yields Bank Lock-Down

Police say no crime was committed, but searched the area as a precaution.

Madison Square Federal Savings Bank locked its doors Monday afternoon after a suspicious incident at the business.

On Monday morning, tellers at the bank noticed a man they deemed suspicious walk toward the bank and locked the doors before he could come inside, Harford County Sheriff's Office spokesman Edward Hopkins said.

The bank employees asked the man to use the drive-thru, but he left instead, Hopkins said. Hopkins was not sure why the bank employees felt the man was suspicious.

"You have to trust their intuition," Hopkins said.

The bank, located at 2209 Belair Road in Fallston, has been the victim of robbery in the past.

"They’re probably more sensitive to it," Hopkins said.

Deputies searched the nearby area as a precaution, but could not find the man.

"We don’t even have an attempted bank robbery at this point," Hopkins said.
