Teen Charged With Rape Has New Trial Date

The trial for Kyle Reddish was scheduled to begin today, but has been rescheduled.

Jury selection in the trial of , the kicker charged as an adult with raping a classmate, was scheduled to begin today but the trial has been postponed until May.

Reddish, 16, of the 200 block of Kensington Parkway in Abingdon, was charged in connection with the sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl the night after he was instrumental in , according to court records.

The Abingdon teen was indicted in October on two counts of second-degree rape, two counts of second-degree sex offense, and one count each of third-degree sex offense, fourth-degree sex offense, second-degree assault and unnatural or perverted practice.

The March 8 trial date in the case has been postponed until 9:30 a.m. May 29. A suppression hearing is scheduled to take place April 23 in .
