Teen Ejected, Killed in Truck Crash into Pole: Harford Sheriff

Detectives were investigating the cause of the crash, the Harford County Sheriff's Office reported.

An 18-year-old woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Pylesville Sunday night, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office.

At 7:28 p.m. on Sunday, deputies responded to the 1000 block of St. Mary's Road, where a Ford pickup truck had left the eastbound part of the road and hit a pole, according to the report.

A passenger was ejected from the truck and pronounced dead at the scene, the report said. Officials said the identity of the 18-year-old woman from Bear, DE, is being withheld until next of kin are notified.

Four other individuals were in the vehicle and did not report any significant injuries, according to the report.

The Harford County Sheriff’s Office reported that officials remained at the scene to reconstruct the crash and investigate the cause.

A half-mile stretch of St. Mary’s Road, on the westbound side near MD Route 24, will be closed until approximately 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, according to the sheriff's office.
