Teen Taken To Trauma Center After Canoe Overturns

A teen was taken for evaluation after a water rescue call in Belcamp.

A 17-year-old was taken to a regional trauma center Wednesday after emergency personnel rescued the teen from the Bush River.

Around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday a canoe on the Bush River behind Water Park Drive in Belcamp overturned, sending two people into the water, Rich Gardiner, spokesman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association wrote in a post to the official fire and EMS Facebook page.

Emergency personnel evaluated the two people after they were safely ashore, the post states.

An 18-year-old refused treatement at the scene while a 17-year-old was taken to a regional trama center for evaluation of injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening, Gardiner wrote.
