Three teens running from a sheriff's deputy led the school system to place Fountain Green Elementary School on lockdown Thursday.
A fourth young adult may face charges in connection with the incident.
Around 12:30 p.m. Thursday, an off duty deputy noticed a car in the area of Maryland Route 22 and Maryland Route 543 with a smell of marijuana coming from inside it, according to Monica Worrell, public information officer with the .
An on-duty deputy went to a home in the 400 block of Weatherby Road, where the vehicle was registered, and as he arrived three young men ran out of the house toward , according to Worrell.
The three young men were quickly apprehended. They are not facing charges at this time, Worrell said.
A fourth teenager, 18 of Bel Air, was found inside the home and could face drug-related charges. No one has been charged with a crime yet, Worrell said. All four teens were age 18 or older.
The placed the elementary school on lockdown at the request of the sheriff's office because they didn't know why the three young men ran.
