Theft From Wegman's Shopper Under Investigation

The Harford County Sheriff's Office is seeking the community's help in finding the person who stole a wallet from a Wegman's customer.

Coupons had nothing to do with one Wegman's shopper getting more than she bargained for—a woman's wallet was stolen out of her purse as she shopped.

On Feb. 3, the woman was shopping at in Abingdon when, between 11 a.m. and noon she left her purse unattended, according to the .

Within that time frame, someone stole her wallet and several credit cards then tried to use the credit card to buy more than $2,000 in gift cards at the Target in the 400 block of Constant Friendship Boulevard, according to police.

Investigators believe the man pictured took the wallet then got into a silver, four door Mercedes with a sunroof and aftermarket tires. He was a passenger in the car, police say.
