Woman Hit by Train, Killed: Aberdeen Police

The incident was reported before 6:30 a.m.

Officials are investigating the death of a woman who was fatally struck by a train Thursday morning, the Aberdeen Police Department reported at 9:45 a.m.

CSX notified Aberdeen police about the incident at 6:18 a.m., according to the report.

Aberdeen police said arriving officers found a woman had been struck and killed approximately 800 yards east of the railroad crossing on West Bel Air Avenue.

The identity of the woman is not being released.

Aberdeen police officers are assisting CSX Railroad Police in investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, according to the report.

After an incident involving a train and a pedestrian in Aberdeen, train traffic was stopped Thursday morning, the Harford County Volunteer Fire & EMS Association reported.

At 6:25 a.m., the Aberdeen Police Department advised there was a crash involving an injury on Law Street at West Bel Air Avenue downtown.

Police and fire personnel were at the scene, officials said.
