UPDATED: Roads Reopened After 2 Vehicle Accident

Emergency personnel extricated victims within 15 minutes, but portions of Harford Road and U.S. Route 1 were closed until shortly before 5 p.m.

UPDATED (5:10 p.m.)—Roads near the Maryland State Police Barracks are reopened after a two-vehicle accident earlier Thursday afternoon.

Two people were injured in an accident near the intersection of U.S. Route 1 and Harford Road, and traffic delays were expected, according to officials.

The crash occurred shortly before 4 p.m. Thursday in front of the Maryland State Police Bel Air Barrack, according to Rich Gardiner, spokesman for Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association.

Police quickly closed Harford Road between Route 1 and Connolly Road, and Route 1 between Harford Road and Connolly Road, effectively closing down one of the Bel Air area's busiest intersections shortly before rush hour.

Emergency personnel extricated the two patients within 15 minutes and rushed them to local hospitals, according to Gardiner.
