UPDATE: Robbers Injured Teller in Armed Bank Heist

Two peopled robbed the NBRS Financial Bank in Street and got away with cash.

Two masked people Thursday morning, injuring a teller and leading the school system to place several nearby schools on lock down.

The robbery happened shortly before 9 a.m. Thursday at NBRS Financial Bank, or National Bank of Rising Sun, in the 3500 block of Conowingo Road, according to Lt. Jim Eyler with the .

The teller sustained a minor injury during the robbery, but police did not disclose the nature of that injury Thursday afternoon, according to Eyler.

Both robbers then ran behind the bank and away from the scene.

Deputies were in the area shortly after the robbery looking for suspicious driving and vehicles possibly related to the crime, Eyler said.

Harford County Public Schools placed North Harford Middle School on lockdown after the robbery, said Teri Kranefeld, manager of communications with the school system. Other area schools were given the option to initiate lockdown procedure, which involves locking doors to portable classrooms and allowing no one to enter or exit the school.

North Harford High School and Dublin Elementary School joined the middle school in a lockdown and about eight nearby feeder schools were given the option, Kranefeld said.

Police believe one of the robbers was a man, Eyler said.

Both robbers are described as being between 5 feet, 7 inches tall and 5 feet, 8 inches tall, wearing dark, form-fitting shirts and dark pants. One of them had a knife, according to the release.
