Alexander Kinyua, age 21, allegedly told detectives that he killed Kujoe Bonsafo Agyei-Kodie, cut him up with a knife before hiding body parts in his basement.

Family and friends of Agyei-Kodie, age 37, held a memorial service in his honor over the weekend in Middle River, according to a CBS.com report.

“The Lord knows why this happened and the Bible says everything happens for a reason, so why do we use this act to shape life in the future? We shouldn’t do that,” family friend Thomas Mwaura was quoted as saying in the CBS.com report.

Agyei-Kodie will be laid to rest on July 7 at Church of Christ Park in Bomso, Ghana, according to a story on The Baltimore Sun.
