Wind Kept Firefighters Busy Last Weekend

Wet conditions this weekend should prevent a similar number of accidents.

You may have heard about the or the electrical fire in Marywood as a result of last weekend's high winds, but there were a number of other fires across the state and Mason-Dixon Line. The Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association responded to more than a dozen blazes on Saturday alone.

Other locations to which local volunteers responded included Perrvyille, York County (PA) and Anne Arundel County.

"Harford County Volunteer Firefighters worked tirelessly and professionally alongside career and volunteer fire and emergency services personnel from Cecil County, York County, Baltimore County, Carroll County, Baltimore City, Anne Arundel County, Federal Fire Departments from APG and Perry Point, and other jurisdictions. The dispatchers at 911 Centers throughout the area also were tested to the extreme," read a statement from the county volunteer and EMS services.
