2 Road Closures Impact Bel Air Area

Road closures on Wheel Road and Thomas Run Road began on June 13.

Two Bel Air area roadways were closed to through traffic last week and are expected to remain closed for two weeks and six months, respectively.

The short-term closure of Thomas Run Road in Bel Air began June 13, according to a release from .

Thomas Run, between MD Route 22 and Medical Hall Road, is expected to remain closed for about 20 days while crews complete construction work.

During the school year that section of Thomas Run Road is particularly busy, as it provides access to , and .

Access to the schools will still be possible from MD Route 22, the release states.

Drivers who normally take Thomas Run Road should take an alternate route during the construction period.

The county has also closed part of Wheel Road, a closure that is expected to last about six months.

The Harford County Department of Public Works began a highway project June 13 on Wheel Road between Patterson Mill Road and Laurel Bush Road, according to a separate release from the county.

That portion of the road is expected to remain closed to traffic for at least six months.

Again, those who regularly drive that section of Wheel Road should make other arrangements while the road remains closed.
