Boniface's Budget Highlights Include Tax Hold

The Harford County Council unanimously passed the fiscal year 2012 budget Tuesday with no tax increases.

The Harford County Council had until May 31 to approve the fiscal year 2012 budget, but Council President Billy Boniface was happy to get it out of the way Tuesday.

Among the highlights, he said, was maintaining the tax rate, which is below the constant yield for the first time in county history.

The president said the council's relationship with the Board of Education also improved during the process.

Moving forward he hopes to work with County Executive David Craig to address debt service issues.
