Cedarday Residents Continue Fight Against Road Extension

Residents of the Cedarday neighborhood will request the Cedarday Drive extension project be delayed.

Some Bel Air residents are set to publicly oppose the to Maryland Route 136 on Tuesday night.

Members of the Cedarday neighborhood will state their argument in front of the at a public meeting Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the auditorium at . 

Friends of Cedarday, the residents representing the neighborhood, say expanding the road would negatively impact their community.

Cedarday members say speeding and traffic volume issues were never studied and are now requesting the department hold off work on the project until such studies can be done.

Some residents of the neighborhood favored the extension as an emergency egress years ago, but became opposed since gained popularity.

The meeting was originally planned to focus on the Wheel Road construction, but will also discuss the road expansion. 

County Councilwoman Mary Ann Lisanti, who represents the neighborhood's district, and chief project engineer Jeffrey Stratmeyer are expected to attend the meeting and answer questions.
