Del. Impallaria Suit Against Sheriff Dismissed

A Baltimore County judge ruled Harford County Sheriff Jesse Bane was not under legal obligations as described by the writ.

A Baltimore County Judge permanently dismissed a lawsuit today that Del. Rick Impallaria filed against Sheriff L. Jesse Bane.

In July, Impallaria alleged Bane acted outside the law by not enforcing thefts of tags and vehicle registration by towing companies, according to a letter from the delegate posted on The Dagger.

Bane and Impallaria appeared for the case in  before a Baltimore County judge on Thursday, according to online court records.

The judge ruled that Impallaria had, "standing as private citizen, not as Chair of Delegates from Harford County," according to online court records.

The judge ruled the sheriff was not under legal obligations as described by the writ and dismissed the case with prejudice, meaning the case is concluded permanantly.

“I am glad this is over and I am thankful that I can now focus on my work protecting the citizens of Harford County," Bane said.
