Election Outcome Unchanged After Final Vote Count

The final votes were tallied this morning in Bel Air Town Hall, but the outcome remains the same with Edward Hopkins, Robert Reier and Susan Burdette to serve on the Bel Air Board of Commissioners.

Election judges gathered in Bel Air Town Hall once again Thursday morning, this time to count provisional and absentee ballots.

All eight abstentee ballots were approved while all five provisional ballots were rejected. The provisional ballots were rejected based on residency and voter registration issues.

Four absentee votes went to Greg Adolph, one to Susan Burdette, one to Terence Hanley, six to Edward Hopkins and five to Robert Reier. One vote was for a write-in candidate.

The numbers did not change the election results. Hopkins and Reier will serve another term on the board and Burdette will replace Hanley.

The final count is as follows:

  • Robert Reier ... 468
  • Edward Hopkins ... 428
  • Susan Burdete ... 369
  • Greg Adolph ... 316
  • Terence Hanley ... 207

How can we encourage residents of the town of Bel Air to want to participate in Town Elections??? I have lived in the town for more than 42 years and love it--except for the traffic from everyone else who loves Harford County!!

Thanks to all the Bel Air residents who voted, even to the 207 who voted for Mr. Hanley. Guess they must be the dumb average humans Terry was talking about a few months earlier. But this is one Average Human who wasn't in the 207 total
