Final Vote Expected on Bel Air FY 2013 Budget

The second public hearing for the town's Fiscal Year 2013 budget is scheduled to take place during Monday's meeting.

The time for public input on the is coming to a close with the Town Board of Commissioners expected to vote on the final budget at tonight's regular business meeting.

 

One noted change to the budget is an expected doubling of fees at the Hickory Parking Garage, according to a story on ExploreHarford.com.

The fee will increase from 25 cents an hour to 50 cents an hour if the budget passes as is, according to that same story.

Town Administrator Chris Schlehr said during a budget work session that the parking garage fee was raised to 50 cents in 1994 then reduced back to 25 cents when the town discovered people used the parking garage more when the rate was lower, according to the ExploreHarford.com story.
