Weather Causes Closings, Delays in Harford County

Roads may be slippery and drivers should allow themselves extra time.

On Wednesday, Harford County Public Schools reported that schools would be closed for the day. Evening activities are canceled. Employees are on "code blue," meaning schools are closed for students and teachers, while school offices will open on time.

Havre de Grace City Hall was opening two hours late.

Citing inclement weather conditions, Harford County government announced that its offices would open two hours later than usual Wednesday. Liberal leave was in effect.

The National Weather Service issued a special weather statement at 4:44 a.m. Wednesday giving notice that roads were slippery in most of Maryland and that people should be careful on parking lots and sidewalks. It advised drivers to give themselves extra time.

A wind chill advisory was in effect for Harford County until noon Wednesday. Temperatures were around 10 degrees Wednesday morning.
