Harford County Recognizes 9/11

A special flag flies outside the county government building.

On the United States suffered an attack on home soil.

Eleven years later, Harford County remembers that dark day and honors those who showed great heroism and those who lost their lives.

The Daughters of the American Revolution donated a 9/11 rememberance flag to Harford County Government, and the flag will fly outside the county administration building all month in recognition of the day.

“The events of September 11, 2001 had a profound effect on all Americans and continue to resound today,” said in a release. “We are humbled and honored by the donation of this very special flag from the Daughters of the American Revolution and will fly it with pride in memory of those who lost their lives that horrific morning."

In addition, Bel Air High School has placed 3,000 flags to mark the loss of life that day.

A group marked the day by waving the American flag on the I-95 Mountain Road overpass for afternoon commuters.
