Secretary Honored for Her Service

Public Works employee recognized by the town commissioners.

Monday's town meeting began with the recognition of Chrissy Mullaney, secretary for the Department of Public Works—an agency that, according to Commissioner Terence O. Hanley, does not get acknowledged enough.

Hanley described Mullaney as an outstanding employee and said it was a pleasure to recognize her. He also commended her for her efforts during last year's winter storms.

"Chrissy volunteered shopping and cooking meals for the D.P.W. snow fighters," he said.

Mullaney started at the department in March 2000 as a Secretary 2 and was promoted in July 2005 to the Secretary 3 position.

And through it all, she went above and beyond her duties, Hanley said.

"I know first hand from dealing with her for seven years and I've never had a bad experience," he said.

To Mullaney, however, it was nothing more than just doing her job.

"I was surprised and very honored," she said. "I just do my job and don't expect to get anything, but it was very nice and I appreciated everything."
