British Petroleum Donates to the BAVFC

BAVFC member works toward earning large donation from his employer, British Petroleum.

is fortunate to receive a number of donations each year. Some come from companies and other organizations within Harford County, while many more come from private citizens that wish to show their appreciation for our services. One company that has been graciously donating to the BAVFC since 2002 is British Petroleum; all because of the hard work of BAVFC member Capt Eric Larson.

Since joining the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company in 2002, Captain Larson has kept track of the hours he has volunteered with the BAVFC and submitted them into the BP Foundation. The BP Foundation is proud to recognize community volunteer efforts of their employees by donating $10 per volunteer hour to the respective organization. In 2011, the BAVFC received a $5,000 social investment, and on June 29th of this year, they received a check in the amount of $4,970. Since Eric joined the company in 2002, BP has donated more than $36,370 to the BAVFC.

The BAVFC wants to extend their many thanks to the BP Foundation and Capt. Larson for this generous donation. Next time you’re at work check with your HR department to see if they have a program like BP. You never know, you could help make a difference in your community too.
