Baltimore Gas and Electric (BGE) presented a $20,000 check to the Harford Community College (HCC) Foundation, Inc. and the Family Performance Series at the college.
John Borkoski, BGE vice president of engineering and project management, and also an HCC Foundation board member, presented a $20,000 check to Dr. Dennis Golladay, HCC president, on Sept. 30 in the Chesapeake Theater.
The check supports education, culture and the arts, HCC announced in a release.
“BGE has a long-standing commitment to enhancing the communities we serve,” said Borkoski in a release. “We are pleased to have the opportunity to enhance the educational and cultural offerings of the Harford Community College Foundation and Family Performance Series, and look forward to a great season of events that people of all ages can enjoy.”
The funds have been designated to sponsor the 2013-2014 Family Performance Series of plays and performances at the college.
A block of tickets to the shows will be made available to organizations such the Boys and Girls Clubs, SARC, Anna’s House, and the Harford Family House to give those who utilize the services of these organizations a chance to enjoy cultural events at the College.
“BGE’s generosity will enable the College to underwrite a variety of shows to enhance the cultural events offerings available to the Harford, Cecil and Baltimore communities, and enhance our ability to feature nationally and internationally renowned artists,” said Susan Nicolaides, director of cultural events and performing arts at HCC.
