Churchville Elementary Filling A Jeep For Families Impacted By Sandy

Non-perishable food, school supplies, winter apparel and toys are being collected Tuesday.

Churchville Elementary School is stuffing a Jeep full of items to send to families affected by superstorm Sandy.

The "Stuff A Jeep" initiative will be held until 2 p.m. Tuesday, according to Harford County Public Schools. The Jeep is being provided by Adams Jeep in Aberdeen.

Students, staff and Parent Teacher Association members will accept "nonperishables; school supplies; hats, mittens and scarves; and new and gently used toys," according to Harford County Public Schools. The items will be given to families in Harford County and those impacted by Sandy in New Jersey and New York, the school system said.

While the "Stuff A Jeep" event will be held Tuesday, items may be dropped off at the school's lobby through Dec. 10.

Also, Patch is accepting donations of coats and winter apparel in Aberdeen and in Havre de Grace for local elementary school students.
