HCC Happenings: Colorful Performances Highlight Week Ahead

HCC offers inspiration and motivation through a number of workshops and receptions, as well as many colorful performances.

Duo Fujin Concert

On Feb. 20, Duo Fujin will be performing at 3 p.m. in Harford Community College’s Joppa Hall, J108, Recital Hall #1 as part of the Sunday Afternoon Concert Series. Duo Fujin will play “Gonzo and the Velocipede,” a piece composed by HCC music faculty Neil Anderson-Himmelspach.  Duo Fujin consists of Misty Thiesen, flute, and Marc Ballard, saxophone.

“Duo Fujin plays with an amazing metronomic precision and a wide emotional palette," Anderson-Himmelspach stated.  "Individually, both Misty Theisen and Marc Ballard have an impressive musical vocabulary which makes their duo a tour de force as interpreters of 21st-century music. It has been a pleasure to write music for such a high-quality chamber ensemble.”
