Last Chance: Apply To Monitor Harford Schools Finances

The has an opening on the school system's audit committee and the deadly to apply is fast approaching.

The five-member committee is designed as an independent and objective overseer of school system finances, according to a release from the school system.

Applicants should have audit, accounting or related financial management experience and be residents of Harford County, the release states.

The committee meets at least quarterly and reports twice a year or more to the school board.

Those interested in applying for the lone opening send a letter of interest bio to the Jennifer Birkelien, Internal Auditor, Harford County Public Schools, 102 South Hickory Avenue, Bel Air, Maryland 21014 by July 31, 2012.

Letters should include name, address, phone number, and background information including children and the school they attend, membership in community, social and civic groups, occupation, level of schooling, availability to attend evening meetings and why the applicant is interested.
