Clark said Burkhead is a prolific scorer who has finished with more than 30 points in a game on more than one occasion.

The shooting guard's virtues extend beyond his skill, Clark said, describing the young man as a team player and a hard worker.

"As an individual he’s a great leader, he’s been a four year starter," Clark said.

Clark said his teammates seemed more excited about the landmark than Burkhead himself was.

"I think he was more excited to be around them and achieve that goal with them and that says a lot about his character," Clark said.

Clark also said he is proud to have the young man represent the school and the team.

"I couldn’t be more excited for him, I think he’s put in a ton of hard work and I think it’s paid off," Clark said.
