Patterson Mill Girls Advance To State Semifinals

The Huskies girls basketball team advanced to the MPSSAA's final four on Friday.

Patterson Mill continued its dominant run through the Class 2A East region Friday, blowing out Queen Anne's to win the region championship.

The Huskies' 64-28 win finished a four-game run where they outscored the opposition by an average of more than 37 points per game.

Patterson Mill advances to the MPSSAA Class 2A state semifinals, where it will face Calvert (19-1) at 5 p.m. on March 8 at UMBC's RAC Arena for a chance to advance to the March 9 championship game.

With a semifinal win, Patterson Mill would face the winner of the other semifinal, featuring Randallstown (13-5) and Middletown (16-7). 

The Huskies lost in the 2012 state semifinals in the school's only previous trip to the state's final four.

Defending Class 3A state champions Aberdeen also advanced to the state semifinals Friday.
