Harford Schools, Government, Libraries Closed on Monday

Public schools are closed in Harford and Cecil counties on Monday, Dec. 9.

Due to the weather, Harford County Public Schools announced school is canceled Monday, Dec. 9.

The Harford County Government said it would be closed Monday as well and Harford Transit may begin operations at 10 a.m. All branches of the Harford County Public Library will not be open.

John Carroll School and Harford Day School will be closed too.

The public school system will be operating on "code red," according to Harford County Public Schools spokeswoman Teri Kranefeld.

Code red means that schools and offices—including central offices—will be closed; evening activities are canceled; second-shift custodians will not be on duty; and day care is canceled.

Classes at Harford Community College will begin at noon on Monday; morning classes were canceled.

Cecil County schools were also closed Monday but offices in that jurisdiction were to remain open.
