Stetka Out as John Carroll Baseball Coach

Joe Stetka said he wants to pursue other opportunities.

UPDATE (7:16 p.m.)—The John Carroll School has released a statement on behalf of school officials in regard to Stetka's resignation:

"Joe Stetka is to be commended and congratulated for two outstanding years as head baseball coach at John Carroll.  He revitalized and brought new respect to our program, and above all, was a great teacher and mentor for the young men on the team.  Guiding the development of two outstanding players drafted by the Orioles was among his most memorable achievements.  We hoped he would stay on for many years at the School, but respect his decision to spend more time with family while exploring new opportunities.

"Coach Stetka has offered to assist John Carroll in finding a successor who will build on his work of the past two years, and continue to grow the baseball program."
