VIDEO: Bel Air Elementary Principal Takes to Tricycle

After the students met their fundraising goal, principal Robin Payne agreed to show her fine tricycle skills as a reward.

At , raising $2,000 will get you three wheels—a school principal on three wheels, that is.

This year Bel Air Elementary students collected Box Tops for Education as a fundraising project.

"What we did is I challenged them, if they would raise a certain amount of money then I would ride a tricycle," Bel Air Elementary's Principal, Robin Payne, said.

The students raised more than $2,000 and held "Ms. Payne" to her word.

As promised, Payne climbed on board a red tricycle and cruised down Lee Street and through the school parking lot to a soundtrack of cheering students.

"She looks ridiculous," one third-grade student announced with glee after the ride was over.

Payne explained the event was bittersweet because this school year marks the end of her time at Bel Air Elementary. Effective July 1, Payne will transfer to .

"It's like my parting fun thing to do for them," Payne said.
