Runnin' 4 Rocco @ Baltimore Running Fesitval

Top Charity Team Runnin’ 4 Rocco Preps for Baltimore Running Festival.

(Baltimore, MD)  – The AFE Foundation is seeking 200 runners and walkers to join Team Captain, Rocco Di Pietro (age 3), to participate in the 4th annual Runnin’ 4 Rocco fundraiser in Baltimore, Maryland, on Saturday, October 13, 2012.  The event will take place in conjunction with the Baltimore Running Festival.  Runnin’ 4 Rocco is a team of runners and walkers who participate in either the 5K, relay, half marathon or full marathon at the Baltimore Running Festival while raising important funds for the AFE Foundation in honor of Rocco Di Pietro, and in memory Rocco’s mother, Teresa Clark Di Pietro.  Registration can now be made via https://afefoundation.wufoo.com/forms/2012-runnin-4-rocco-registration-form/

In November 2008, Rocco was brought into the world. Tragically, his mother, Teresa, passed away from a rare obstetric complication known as AFE (Amniotic Fluid Embolism) during his delivery. What was supposed to be a day of great joy for this young family soon turned into one of tragedy.  Wanting to do something to honor Teresa, an avid runner and lifelong resident of Bel Air, Maryland, Teresa’s husband, Dave, and her family and friends created Runnin’ 4 Rocco.  The team hopes to teach young Rocco, that his mother will never be forgotten and most importantly hopes to teach others the important lesson of overcoming tragedy and living your life with purpose.  For the past several years Runnin’ 4 Rocco has remained the top charity team with over 225 runners at the Baltimore Running Festival. There is no minimum fundraising required. All proceeds raised benefit the AFE Foundation.
