Harford Libraries Available as Cooling Centers Today

Hazardous heat conditions are expected to continue throughout the day Tuesday, and announced public libraries will serve as places to escape the heat.

All will serve as cooling centers during normal business hours today (Tuesday). All branches are open until 8 p.m.

Temperatures are expected to be in the mid- to lower 90s Tuesday afternoon with thunderstorms moving into the area Tuesday night.

, there is a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening, according to the National Weather Service.

If the Bel Air fireworks are cancelled due to inclement weather, they will be launched July 5 around 9:30 pm. instead.

Cancellation information will be announced on WBAL-AM 1090, WXCY-FM 103.7 and WAMD-AM 970, according to the Bel Air Independence Day Committee's website.
