New Route For Bel Air July 4th Parade

Instead of turning right off Main Street at Fulford Avenue then left onto Kenmore Avenue, the new route will continue straight down Main Street and end at Idlewild Street.

Independence Day is less than a month away, and this year is making a change to the routine.

At its June 4 business meeting Board members said the final approval would come from MD State Highway Administration, however they had no doubt the change would be approved.

During the meeting, Bel Air Police Chief explained the town already closes off the area because it surrounds the usual parade route.

Matrangola said and he feels the change will be a good thing for parade goers, adding the parade used to take that route a number of years ago.

“I think it will streamline [the parade],” Chief Leo Matrangola said at the meeting.
