With schools and Aberdeen Proving Ground open Wednesday in Harford County, officials said drivers should be extra cautious due to chillier temperatures.

On Wednesday, Harford County Public Schools were operating on a two-hour delay after snow days Monday and Tuesday.

Aberdeen Proving Ground announced that it would be open Dec. 11 as well.

Three inches of snow fell in Harford County by 7 a.m. Tuesday, according to a statement from Harford County Government

More than 100 Harford County public works personnel and contractors plowed and treated roads to prevent ice and snow from accumulating, and all county roads were passable by noon and by 2 p.m., the snow had stopped, the statement said.

State highways were cleared by mid-morning, according to the report.

"A combination of school, government and business closures and people heeding the warning to stay at home gave work crews an opportunity to salt, plow and clear state roads," State Highway Administrator Melinda B. Peters said. "Our job isn’t over, and we ask drivers for their continued diligence."
