Town, School Board Meet, Tax Free Shopping: This Week in Bel Air

Tax breaks on clothes, school system and town business, free outdoor concerts and movie are among the highlights this week in Bel Air.

• Save Maryland state sales tax on qualifying apparel and footwear valued at $100 or less through Saturday, Aug. 17. Find a list of exempt items here.

• The Bel Air Board of Commissioners will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday in Bel Air Town Hall, 39 N. Hickory Avenue. Check out the full agenda here.

• Harford County Board of Education meets at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the A.A. Roberty building, 102 South Hickory Avenue.

• Marketplace on Main, the weekday farmer's market, will be open from 3-7 p.m. Wednesday in the Downtown Parking Lot on Main Street between the Main Street Tower Restaurant and the Harford County Sheriff's Office.

• Jazz Ambassadors of Army Field Band will perform from 7- 9 p.m. in Shamrock Park Wednesday as part of the summer concert series. Admission is free.

• It's Girls Night Out from 5-8 p.m. Thursday in Bel Air. You will find shops and boutiques open late on Main Street, plus wine tasting at Bel Air Liquors, Two Sisters Gallery, B. Fabulous, Details by Donna, The Pink Silhouette, Tiger Lily, and The Whitehouse Trading Co.

• Escape from Planet Earth is this week's movie to be featured outdoors in Shamrock Park. Festivities begin at 6:30 p.m. Friday and the movie begins at sunset.
