Events: Fly a Model Airplane, Bluegrass Music, Back-to-School Storytime

Friday
Don't miss out on the summertime pleasure of watching a free flick under the stars with Restore Church: Outdoor Movies at the Park in Abingdon starting at 6:30 p.m. Friday. The event includes viewing Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs along with other family-friendly events such as a bounce house, carnival games and face painting.

If you still haven't made your way to Baltimore on a Friday evening for the Patio Party at the Maryland Science Center on its harbor terrace, you can check out the eclectic five-piece band Yo No Say this week. Cost: Free—and you can enter the Science Center for exhibits, an IMAX movie and a planetarium show for the special Fridays After Five price of $8.

Saturday
Have you ever wanted to fly a model airplane? Don't miss your chance on National Model Aviation Day sponsored by Harford County Radio Controlled Modelers. The fun starts Saturday at 10 a.m. in Street.

Get your little ones ready for school with Storytime featuring Dr. Seuss' ABC at 11 a.m. at Barnes & Noble in Bel Air. Targeted for children ages 3 to 7, parents will also receive a free "Tips for Reading with Your Children" handout. 

Bring a lawn chair to relax and listen to Separate Directions perform traditional bluegrass music starting at 2 p.m. for the Summer Concert at Perryville Outlet Center.

Parents: Need a night to yourself? "RKids" is hosting a RKids Sunday Funday at Restore Church in Havre de Grace starting at 5:30 p.m. These evenings are suitable for children in first through fifth grade only. For more information, contact info@restorechurch.net.
